ArcelorMittal Tubarão invited IEMA (State Environment and Water Resources Institute) inspectors and Espirito Santo Public Ministry representatives for a technical visit to the plant to take place on Wednesday (03/03), when they had the opportunity to see the Coke Oven Battery 4 construction works.

Environmental gains, which will be incorporated to the company process after the completion of this project, were presented reinforcing environmental controls in tandem with other implemented or ongoing initiatives from the Environmental Commitment Agreement and Evoluir program.
The managers in charge of the construction and operation talked about issues regarding the building of the ovens, combustion chambers and smoke channel, also addressing the main milestones of the project (heating up and first coke) and the forecast for obtaining the Operating License.
The visit reaffirms the commitment the company has with the communities and government agencies, valuing a transparent dialog and investing in environmental improvements.
