Environmental advancements presented in visits to the Plant

The main investments in the Evoluir Program, including the initiatives from the Environmental Commitment Agreement, were presented to TV Vitoria – Rede Record/ES journalists.

The visit took place on March 5th at Tubarão and included the participation of company managers.  
Promoting visits to the unit is of utmost importance, particularly when it comes to journalists with a relevant social role in conveying the information and in building public opinion. The action is also essential to broaden the spaces for dialogues, keep the transparency of activities and spread environmental advances.  
The guests had the opportunity of learning about one of ArcelorMittal Tubarão’s most robust projects: the works at the Coke Plant - Battery 4. When concluded the battery will have 49 ovens and a production capacity of 600 thousand tons of coke per year.
From construction to operation, several questions regarding the building of the ovens, combustion chambers and smoke channel have been detailed, addressing the most relevant milestones (heating and first coke) and the forecast for obtaining the Operating License.
