ArcelorMittal Tubarão advances in the compliance with the Evoluir Program targets. We are highlighting one of them.
The routine application of polymers on the coproducts piles in the Coproducts Storage Centre (CASP), according to the wind dragging mitigation plan. A product called Greencarpet – a mix of polymeric emulsion agglutinating agents and recycled paper pulp products – formulated to reduce dust emissions and storage pile erosion as well as several other soil coverages. The material is green and offers superior cohesion, water resistance, reduced air/water entry and it is ecologically friendly. This dust control system is advanced and encompasses all kinds of inactive and surface piles. When dry, it keeps the colour visible and creates a rain and wind resistant surface coverage which minimizes oxidation and energy loss.
