New dedusting system in the coproducts processing yards
A new dedusting system for the KR slag dumping process and pig iron emergency area, an investment of R$51 million, is one of the new investments forecast by ArcelorMittal Tubarão.
The installation of the new dedusting system (bag filters) will control the emissions during emergency dumping of pig iron and KR slag processes, to prevent fugitive emissions.
Besides being in line with the company commitment to the continuous improvement of its environmental controls, the new projects meet the demands of the State Environment and Water Resources Institute (IEMA) and are part of the actions included in the Environmental Commitment Agreement.
The work shall create approximately 300 new job posts for the installation and assembly of the system. The main professionals to be hired are engineers, technicians (mechanical, electrical and automation), welders, assemblers, bricklayers, and others. For the civil construction, electromechanical, manufacturing and boiler room processes only local companies or companies already operating in the state are being invited to participate.
The conclusion of the work is forecast for 2021.
