Paved road stretches around Blast Furnace 1
Another step of the Strategic Paving Plan (PEP) has been concluded at ArcelorMittal Tubarão. The area around the sludge tank and thickeners at the Blast Furnaces Water Recirculation Centre has received asphalt cover.
The action is in line with Target 100 (Paving and Drainage) of the Environmental Commitment Agreement (TCA), aiming to reduce particulate matter resuspension and to improve rainwater drainage.
The initiative also helps Compliance with Guideline 88 regarding the proper cleaning of Blast Furnaces operation areas. The paving represents a cleaner, safer, more organized and more sustainable area.
The Strategic Paving Plan is a long-term initiative, which includes a variety of environmental actions to reinforce the fight against particle resuspension on internal roads.
