Commitment, challenge and resilience at Tubarão
Two years ago, one of the biggest environmental management initiatives started at ArcelorMittal Tubarão: the Evoluir Program.
More than fulfil Targets and Guidelines, the company developed this program to foment a change of mindset guiding a new look towards environment-related actions.
The commitment and the maturity grew day after day and are reflected in the countless investments, activities, projects and accomplishments. Part of the progress includes the following results: R$137 million invested; 100% of the action plans of the targets forecast to be accomplished this year are concluded; over 99% of the workers have been trained; 204 people acknowledged for promoting good practices in their areas; 1,106 jobs created; 29 companies contracted, 15 of them from Espírito Santo; and the development of projects such as the Belt Conveyor Strategic Plan (R$80 million).
The commitment taken upon two years ago is renewed daily. Despite all the challenges faced during the covid-19 pandemic, the company persisted with the engagement and the focus on the goal of improve environmental management. All the health and safety protocols have been reinforced so the company could continue its activities keeping the necessary care to preserve everybody’s lives.
ArcelorMittal Tubarão acknowledges that evolving is a non-stop journey. The mission continues!
