ArcelorMittal Flat Carbon South America CEO Jorge Oliveira took part in the opening of the first Metallurgy and Mining Memorial, the Cultural Room Casa de Metal, in São Paulo, yesterday, May 3rd.
With more than 700sqm, the building houses thousands of titles and records of the two segments history and also social and cultural spaces for events such as film and picture exhibits, official ceremonies and other events. Located in the Brazilian Metallurgy Association (ABM) headquarters in the south area of the city, the space is an initiative of the Tourism Ministry Special Culture Secretariat (Culture Incentive Law) and the Quattro Projetos company and ABM support.
“We are one of the sponsors of this important and differentiated project which is open to the public and free of charge. The space has all the qualities to become an important public space for knowledge, a scenario to safekeep mining, metallurgy and materials memory in Brazil”, affirmed the CEO.
