ArcelorMittal
awarded yesterday, May 5th, the 13 winners of the Women Award. The event
to announce the winners and deliver the prizes took place at Cerimonial Steffen
in Serra.
The
Women Award was created to identify and acknowledge women in several areas of
work who lead transformative business or social projects in the states of
Espírito Santo and Santa Catarina. There were six categories this year: Academics,
Press, AM Flat Carbon Employee, Private Company (MEI and ME), Public and Third
Sectors.
The
contest
In
all, there were 297 entries, from which 37 finalists were selected. The
finalists were granted the first award of the contest: a group training course
at ArcelorMittal Tubarão (ES) and Vega (SC) headquarters. In the end, seven
women from Espírito Santo and six from Santa Catarina won the final prize after
the evaluation of items such as project creativity, sustainability, impact,
quality, the clarity of the material presented, and its transformation
potential. Each winner received a R$5,000.00 gift card, guided qualification
and a participation certificate. In addition to the items included in the award
regulation, each winner, including those from the first edition, received an
exclusive golden pendant with the award logo.
According
to ArcelorMittal Tubarão Communication and Institutional Relations Manager,
Jennifer Coronel, the award reinforced the company commitment to encouraging
women empowerment and acknowledging women’s efforts towards really
transformative actions and projects. “In addition to that, and in line with the
company Diversity & Inclusion Policy principles and values, the award
included the participation of cis and transgender women. This is a way to ratify
how much equality issues are important to us and how much we need to
increasingly create opportunities for them to feel fully capable of developing
themselves at all fronts of their lives”, she completed.
