Organized
by the Water Management specialist Professor Valmir Pedrosa, the book presents several
perspectives and experiences from four authors on rivers located in different corners
of the world. The launching will take place on June 14, at noon, in Vitoria.
Author of relevant books on water management and
considered one of the greatest specialists in water management in the country,
Alagoas Federal University Professor Valmir Pedrosa is coming to Vitoria
on June 14 for the launching of his book "Água: Distintos Olhares”
(Water: Distinctive Looks). The event will start at 12 noon and will be broadcast
live on A Gazeta website (www.agazeta.com.br) with the participation of specialists on the
subject.
The book has been organized by Pedrosa and comprises
his own as well as four other authors’ texts:
Anivaldo de Miranda Pinto (AL), João
Bosco Reis da Silva (ES), Letícia Lindenberg (ES) and Marcell André Gossen
(SC). The launching will take place during the
panel “Água: Distintos Olhares”, an event that gathers researchers and
professionals involved in the water issue and is part of the Sustainable
Attitude Project, created by Gazeta Network with the aim of making Espirito
Santo a national and international reference in the sustainable and creative
exploration of its ecosystem.
During the ceremony, a column with the
same name will be launched, to be published on the A Gazeta news website with
real examples of preservation models focused on fostering actions to preserve
the environment.
The book launching and the Panel are
sponsored by ArcelorMittal Tubarão.
Água: Distintos Olhares
The book comprises texts from experiences lived by
five professionals highlighting advances and achievements in the good
management of water resources. In the book one can find reports from Anivaldo de Miranda Pinto, a journalist from Alagoas, about his experience as
president of the São Francisco River Water Basin Committee; from João Bosco
Reis da Silva, ArcelorMittal Tubarão Sustainability and Institutional
Relations Manager, who casts an attentive look on the Santa Maria da Vitoria
River; from Letícia Lindenberg, a lawyer with a wide experience in
communication, who presents her thoughts gathered during her bike ride along
the Reno River, one of the most important in Europe; from Marcell André
Gossen, a chemical engineer and ArcelorMittal Vega (SC) Environment, Health
& Safety Manager, who shows us how the steel plant unit dialogues with the
surrounding communities about the waters of the Acaraí River, in the state of
Santa Catarina.
The book also presents the observations of Professor Valmir
Pedrosa, who also worked as a technical advisor in the São Francisco River
Water Basin Committee, on the conflicts regarding water use in different parts
of the world.
“For ArcelorMittal Tubarão, the book
'Água: Distintos Olhares' is an opportunity to contribute to the debate in the
search for innovative solutions in water management. In face of the current global
water shortage scenario, the stories reported in the book invite us to ponder
about the importance of this invaluable resource and, mostly, about the urgency
of finding solutions for the problem,” commented the ArcelorMittal Flat Carbon South America CEO, Jorge
Oliveira, who signs the book foreword.
